Vallisaari

Experience the secret treasure of the Helsinki archipelago!

Vallisaari and Kuninkaansaari are the most biodiverse archipelago in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area and a treasure in its own right. Meadows, groves, ponds, dozens of butterfly species, deer, badgers and bats. In Vallisaari, 25 minutes from the city centre, you are on an island in the middle of the forest.
Vallisaari is located between Suomenlinna and Santahamina. The Strait of Kustaanmieka, which separates Vallisaari and Suomenlinna, is known as the Gibraltar of the North. From the cliffs of Vallisaari or from the observation deck of the Alexander Battery, you can admire the passing ships and the fortifications of Kustaanmiekka.

History

The Biennale will take place in Vallisaari from 12.6.-21.9.2025.
