VALLISAARI
Experience the hidden treasure of the Helsinki archipelago!
Vallisaari and Kuninkaansaari are the most diverse natural destinations in the Helsinki archipelago. Meadows, groves, ponds, dozens of butterfly species, deer, badgers, and bats – in Vallisaari, 25 minutes from Helsinki’s centre, you are on an island in the middle of a forest.
Vallisaari’s scheduled traffic starts on Fri 3th of May 2024 and ends on Sun 29th of September 2024.
Natural experiences and historical sights
Vallisaari is located between Suomenlinna and Santahamina. The Kustaanmiekka Strait, which separates Vallisaari and Suomenlinna, is known as the Gibraltar of the North. From the cliffs of Vallisaari or the viewing platform of Alexander’s Battery, you can admire the passing ships and the fortifications of Kustaanmiekka.
The island is encircled by a well-maintained ring road. Located on the island, the Alexander Battery is one of the highest points in the archipelago, offering stunning views. On the eastern side of Kuninkaansaari, there is a sandy cove with a beach where you can also go swimming.
